Urban decay naked smoky palette | review

Urban decay have to my favourite eyeshadows. The palettes especially are amazing quality and such great value for money. Their Naked palettes especially excel above the rest and are my go to palettes. I have every naked palette and last year Urban decay bought out their newest naked palette 'smoky'

I hadn't been in any immediate rush to get the smoky palette as i thought it looked similar to a mix of the other naked palettes but when i was at a urban decay counter recently i just had to add it to my collection. Naked 3 is my favourite and i didn't think there would be a palette i liked more however the smoky palette is now my favourite and here's why....

The smoke effect packaging is so different and i really like it. I prefer the plastic paging to the tin ones from previous palettes as it seems to feel a little more sturdy. It has the usual 12 shades but instead of all being the same colour family there is a mix of neutrals, smoky shimmers and mattes. The eye looks you can create with this palette are endless. I love that you can really go glam with a dark smoky eye or for a more natural day look with the same palette. The only thing i think the palette needed was a deep black to create the ultimate smoky eye but it does have 'black market' which is a light black which isn't to harsh. The shades all have the great pigmentation that all urban decay eye shadows have and even the shimmers give great colour pay off but they do have fall out.

The palette retails for £38.00 and is available to buy online or at any urban decay counter. I created a daytime smoky eye in the pictures below, i used dagger all over the lid and combust to blend it through the crease. A tiny bit of black market is the outer corner and armor in the middle of the lid and on the lower lash line. Then for highlight i used high in the inner corner.

  1. Those swatches are stunning x
