How To Make Toffee Apples

With Halloween and bonfire night just around the corner, i wanted to share how i make toffee apples. They are a childhood favourite and can be made with toffee, chocolate or candy melts and decorated for halloween or bonfire night.

These can be tricky to make if you don't have a sugar thermometer as toffee should be 140 for it to set hard, but if you don't then boil it for about 10 mins and drop a little of the mixture into a bowl of cold water and if it separates into hard threads then it is done.

Ingredients:
500g dererara sugar
75g butter
225g golden syrup
150ml water
2 tsp malt vinegar (i used rice vinegar because thats what i had and it still worked)
8 medium apples, wiped
lollipop sticks
