Benefit They're Real - Elle Magazine Freebie

Hi everyone! As I'm sure you are all aware now this months Elle magazine come with a fab freebie in the form of benefits "they're real" mascara. I have read so many great things about their real but never purchased it as i have lost hope in high end mascaras and much prefer the standard drugstore mascara and I'm happy with my current one.

When i saw it came free with Elle for only £4 i was quick to whip it in my basket without a second thought so i could give it a try. The wand is a plastic wand with short and long bristles running from top to bottom, i do really like the wand even if it is plastic and the end is really good for getting into the inner lashes. When i first tried this i found it to be a little wet which i don't particularly like and it did take a while to dry but with one coat it defines the lashes and adds length and definition. I like how black the mascara is, its not grey like some but a very deep black and it can be built to add thickness and volume.

What i didn't like is how heavy it felt on my lashes, i love how it looks but not how it felt. It is also a little tricky to remove, some may see this as a good thing, some bad however I'm not sure. I'm a little unsure if i would actually purchase the full size of this, I'm happy i had the chance to try it as a freebie and would recommend going and whipping it off the shelf to try for yourself so much so i wrote this post. I just think for the £20 price tag for a mascara i want something to completely wow me.

What are your thought on they're real?

xXx

  1. I wouldn't say that £20 is a fair price to pay for something that isn't going to change your look so dramatically! I agree with you and am happy to stick to regular drugstore ones that do the job. But getting a freebie with an Elle magazine is fine with me!

  2. Thanks for this text! I was just thinking today if I should buy this mascara, because I need a new one. I like Diorshow because it's very strong black. I hate when lashes look very long but "thin", you know.. :)

  4. I loved this mini Benefit mascara! It gave my lashes lots of volume in one coat and I agree, it did take a little longer to dry than my normal mascara

  7. I adore this mascara.. it really works well on my lashes. Although I would say that it took about a month for the mascara to work the best. When it was new it was a bit meh.. so keep going, and I'm sure yours will be the same :D xx

  8. This has been my favourite mascara so far. I've used drugstore brands, dior, chanel, and yet this is the one I feel makes my lashes the most luscious. Benefit always seems to get it right!

  11. I agree, I much prefer to use products from Maybelline instead of the more expensive (raved on about) brands (:
