Barry M Wink Black Marker Pen For Eyes

Recently i went into super drug and saw they had a 3 for 2 on Barry m products. I picked up some things and noticed they had a new eyeliner/marker pen and as i was in need of a new one i thought i would try it out. When i think of Barry m i think "nail paints" & "dazzle dusts" and i don't think i have ever bought anything else from them so i was excited to try some new things.

The thing that really caught my eye was the packaging, only because of its bright hot pink colour. The packaging is a little tacky but for an eyeliner its OK and i kind of like the old school style. Its basically a felt tip pen style eyeliner. When i first took off the lid it did have a strong smell, like a marker actually, and i was worried it would irritate my eyes as some eyeliners do, however that smell seems to have gone and it does not irritate my eyes at all.

The marker style pen i find easy to use, i use a black eyeliner on a daily basis and is a staple in my makeup routine so anything that makes it quicker to do is great for me. I like a thick black line and the nib of this makes it easy to do but i did find making a thin line is a little difficult unless you use the very tip which can be a little awkward.

A con to this is the colour. I like a "black black" eyeliner and this is more of a "grey black" and needs to coats to achieve a deep black. I would set this with a black eyeshadow also for a more intense black but also for staying power as i did notice a bit of wear after about 5 hours which could be because I'm used to wearing waterproof eyeliners and they don't seem to wear.

Overall i do like this for the pen style and how easy it is to use but would say it needs a black eyeshadow over the top if you like it intense, but if you like a lighter line then this will suit you very well

Have you tried this yet?

  3. I'm terrible at applying eye liner. I have really fair eyelashes so even with mascara somehow it just doesn't look right on me. Maybe a lighter line might be good for me!
