Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Hello ladies!

Today i thought id share my thoughts on the Rimmel stay matte long lasting pressed powder. Around Christmas time i spent a few days at my mums house and i usually always leave something there like a item of clothing, a bottle even a dog! This time i left my makeup bag full of all my daily makeup and brushes! Now my mum lives about 100 miles away from me so it wasn't just a trip down the road to pick it up and as it was new years so i needed to get some new make up just to last.

In my makeup bag was my trusty MAC msf which i love, adore and thought i could not live without. I took a trip to boots to try and find a cheap alternative to replace my 'msf' and i remember reading lots of reviews on the Rimmel stay matte powder and alot of bloggers comparing it to MAC msf so i gave it a try.

I have to stay I'm not the biggest Rimmel fan but they have bought out some lovely products recently and this powder is definitely one of them. First off the packaging is a little crappy lets be honest the clear plastic lid and too much writing on the front makes it look as cheap as it is but the packaging isn't what matters with a powder its the product. I picked up the colour peach glow because it was the lightest they had but it is a little dark for me at the moment but if i only use a little and blend it in i can make it work.

Stay matte powder retails for £3.99 which is amazing for this product! its the perfect powder , its not cakey and last 's most of the day on my skin, with other powders i get alot of excess fallout with goes everywhere but i don't get that with this powder. I have dry skin and around this time of the year my skin suffers with the cold and central heating and i always worry with a powder that it will make the dry patches stand out more but i don't get that with this.

This powder is a dupe for MAC msf, don't get me wrong its not better but definitely close and with the price difference when i do eventually get my makeup bag and i finish MAC's msf i probably wont repurchase it again.

Have you tried this powder? or any others you prefer?

xXx

  1. I know what you mean about crappy plastic cover, the last one I bought shattered about 3 weeks in! Having said that I really like this, I've bought it before, but I wouldn't get it over my MSF, I feel like it's just that bit heavier!

  4. This is the same powder I use (and same colour). Personally I think it's great, considering it's a relatively cheap drugstore product. I'll agree that it looks cheap, but the quality of the powder itself is much better than the packaging gives it credit for!

  7. I like your new layout, very pretty indeed. I usually pay about 28.00£ for bare minerals, but this may be a cheaper alternative. Becoming a student in April so reviews like this make me VERY happy! Thanks for sharing

  20. Great review, I may have to give this a try, is it OK for super-pale little Caspers like me? :-)

I normally swear by L'Oreal's True Match pressed powder, it's only £8 and is super-blendable so looks like your own skin! However I find with that I have to reapply occasionally, do you have to keep topping up with this one?

I'll be back to this page! :-)
